Three weeks into Guatemala, and wow, am I amazed at how much I’ve seen God move. I’ve heard of incredible healings, been apart of chance encounters, and met some incredible people. I have decided that I love this country and it’s people. I see so much joy on the faces of the kids when we play with them. I see the see the love Reindom has for it’s community, and the people in the community. I’ve shared so many laughs with my teammates and squadmates.
My team’s ministry is serving with Reindom and doing everything they need us to do. That means we’ve done everything from feeding and playing with the kids to working with medical missions to manual labor and painting. My favorite part is definitely serving with the kids. They are so sweet, and they abousolty love getting to play with us even though, I don’t really speak the same language as them. They have such a joy when we dance with them, and they love getting to play soccer with us.
I love having gotten to meet some incredible people, including a few new friends from London who are abousolty amazing, and I hope to get to spend more time with on this earth. Our ministry hosts are also super cool, I think they’re doing an amazing job at spreading the love of Jesus to everyone they meet. I got to meet a man from Italy and minister to his heart, though is was a shake the dust off moment. The people in Guat are also really sweet, and even though I don’t speak their language, I’ve gotten to see just why God loves them, and spread God’s love back to them, even if spreading His love is as simple as pointing out to an older woman and empty seat of the chicken bus.
The food here is also really nice, we get to have plantains quite a bit, and are so privileged to have tortillas almost every day. I’ve tried some really interesting but surprisingly good snacks, and gotten to try a McDonald’s here. There are also a small variety of cafes that are really nice, and are a great source of Wifi.
I love this country, and am so glad I have the ability to serve here, and minister to the people, and empower them to minster to the nations.
Sounds like a wonderful experience. Great how you can show love without language. God be with you in all situations both great and trying. ❤️🙏Granny.
I’m so excited for you! It is amazing how love breaks down barriers. I love you and pray for daily.
The McDonalds in Antigua has the BEST view of the volcano! Have you been to the cross that overlooks the city? We spent a month there as a family in 2013. I took a group of 60 from the kid’s high school in 2019. Chicken buses for the win! 🤣
